Zlaté husle (The Golden Violin) Orchestra was founded in 2004 as part of the Lúčnica artistic ensemble by concertmaster and artistic director, Martin Sleziak. The ensemble was created as a representative body of Slovak professional orchestras, as the new members became soloists and concertmasters of these bodies.

Composition and activity of the orchestra
The Golden Violin Orchestra is made up of professional musicians (graduates of conservatories and music academies) who are known for their high level of artistry. The repertoire of the Golden Violin Orchestra includes arrangements of classical music pieces, opera arias, operetta songs, musical and film melodies, as well as compositions based on folk themes of Slovak, Moravian, Roma and other European nations. During its existence, the orchestra has recorded eleven CDs and also acts as the core band of the Lúčnica Artistic Ensemble. The Golden Violin Orchestra collaborates with top performers of various musical genres: Jiří Stivín, Dalibor Karvay, Juraj Bartoš, Juraj Burian, Miroslav Dvorský, Peter Dvorský, Dalibor Jenis, Adriana Kučerová, Ľubica Vargicová, Felix Slováček, Marián Vojtko, Pavol Habera, Lucie Bílá, No Name, Elán, IMT Smile, Helena Vondráčková and others.
